My monitor blink before playing a video. How come?
I recently bought a Radeon HD 4870 and installed it. Everything works perfect except for some reason, before and after closing a video, my monitor does a very quick blink. Is there a way to fix this? It didn't do this before when I had my Radeon X1950 XTX installed.
Sounds like the resolution in the video player changes each time. What media player are you using. Try to provide more information when you're asking complicated questions.
I'd suggest trying to make the media player's resolution the same as your desktop's resolution.
I'd also suggest going to ATi's website and ensuring you have the most current drivers. This sounds like a potential driver issue as well.
One more suggestion, and I know people hate me for saying this- Get Nvidia. ATi may have some of the most powerful video cards on the market. However, these cards are not user friendly, even for IT professionals. The Catalyst interface is pure chaos. Furthermore, the installation program is too smart for its own good. I'd elaborate, but I think I've given you enough at this point. I'd hate to rant
Good Luck
